Submission Mechanics
All submitted articles should be original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical. Manuscripts should follow the style of the Conference and are subject to both review and editing. Although English is the official language of the Conference, manuscripts with the exemption of the abstract can be submitted in any of the following languages: Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, Nihonggo, Korean or Spanish. Please submit all manuscripts to secretariat@icbemsbc.com using the following guidelines.
1. Paper Sizes
Please adjust the formatting of your summary paper to A4-sized document.
2. Margins
The margins are approx. 25mm (1″) for left and right, and 30mm (1.2″) for top and bottom.
3. Page Limit
The summary paper should not exceed 5 pages. Please do not number the pages.
4. Software
Please prepare your summary paper as a Microsoft Word document.

5.Titles and Headings
Please use Times Roman 16pt font, upper case, bold and centered for the Summary Paper Title. Leave seven blank lines to position the paper title. Leave 2 blank lines between title and author’s names and 1 blank line between authors’ names and affiliations. Leave 3 blank lines between the last affiliation address and the Abstract section heading. Always leave 2 blank lines between sections. For exact spacing and format, please refer to the attached style sheet.
6. Text and Illustration
Please use a Times Roman 12pt font and single line spacing for text. For exact spacing
and format, please refer to the attached style sheet. Please ensure that the text,
illustrations and formulae are of high definition with good contrast.
7. Digitised images
Digitised images should be set at a print resolution of at least 300 dpi. If scanned photographs or images are used, please submit the high quality originals together with your summary paper.
8. Abstract
Submit an abstract of not more than 300 words not later than November 15, 2011.
The abstract should:
- clearly state the goals of the study
- provide sufficient background information including key literature references
- briefly describe the methodology adopted
- highlight data sources
- report the main findings and
- include up to five keywords
Submit the same abstract along with your summary paper not later than December 1, 2011.
9. Keywords
When you submit your summary paper please suggest between 5 keywords which will help readers identify the nature of your paper.
The keywords should be included in your paper (after the abstract).
10. Attached Style Sheet
The attached style sheet is formatted with the exact spacing and format as required.
Please download the style sheet (MS Word document template) for use.
You can then save it under a new name and start working on it.
11. Submission

Masters and Doctoral Colloquia
As part of the conference, ICBEM will hold a masters and doctoral colloquia inviting professionals pursuing their masters and PhD students to submit research papers and defended thesis and dissertation proposals in abbreviated format. A developmental session with senior faculty will provide master and doctoral students the opportunity to enhance their scholarly work in preparation for publication. The conference will also provide a meet-the-publisher session allowing writers to interact with editors and publisher of academic journals. The format of the regular paper submission applies.
